RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODSThis is a literature review. RESULTSInformation is available regarding the use of some, but not all, oral antidiabetes agents in pregnancy. CONCLUSIONSAvailable evidence supports the use of glyburide during pregnancy. Evidence is inadequate to support or refute the use of metformin, an agent that has been shown to cross the placenta and thus could be helpful or harmful to the developing fetus.
